1. How does the monthly payment plan work?
Instead of paying for the entire year upfront, you can spread the cost out. You pay an initial deposit to activate the policy for the visa application. Your ongoing monthly payments are paused until the traveler actually lands in Canada.
2. What do I need to pay right now to start the plan?
To set up your monthly plan today, you only pay:
- A 2-month premium deposit: This is not an extra fee; it covers your first and last month of insurance coverage.
- A non-refundable admin setup fee: This is set by the insurance provider.
- Examples: Travcare is $60 per person; Rimi Insurance is $120 per policy.
3. When do the ongoing monthly payments start?
Charges only trigger after the traveler arrives in Canada:
- Month 1 in Canada: No charge (covered by your initial deposit).
- Month 2 onward: Automatic monthly charges to your credit card.
- End of the term: Your final automatic payment happens one month before the policy expires (since your deposit already paid for the final month).
4. What if the visa is refused?
You will receive a 100% refund of your premium. Simply provide us with the official IRCC refusal letter, and the amount will be credited back to your original payment card.
5. What if the traveler leaves Canada early? Can I get a refund?
Yes. If the traveler returns home before the 1-year term ends, you are entitled to a prorated refund for the unused days (minus a standard $50 cancellation fee).
🌟 Our Exclusive Edge: Standard industry rules state that if any medical claim is made, the policy becomes 100% non-refundable. However, we partner with select providers who allow prorated refunds for unused days even if a claim has been made. Contact us directly to secure one of these flexible plans.
6. Is there cashless / direct billing at the hospital?
- Hospitals & Emergency Rooms: Direct billing is often available, depending on the facility and the nature of the medical emergency.
- Clinics, Prescriptions & Labs: There is no cashless service. You will pay upfront at walk-in clinics or pharmacies, save your receipts, and submit them for reimbursement.
- Expect reimbursements to take up to 4 weeks once all documents are submitted.
7. What should I do in a medical emergency?
- Call the Broker First: We highly recommend calling or texting us before you contact the insurance company’s claims line. We will review your situation and guide you to ensure your claim goes smoothly.
- Call the Insurer Before Treatment: For non-life-threatening ER or clinic visits, call the claims administrator on your policy before seeing the doctor.
- Serious Emergencies: Go straight to the nearest hospital or call 911 immediately. Contact the insurer as soon as it is safe to do so. Always save all original medical records and receipts.
